Trying to Succeed

What’s a girl to do?

When she’s scared of never pulling through

Because in her life things always fall apart

Making her feel like she’s been stabbed in the heart

I try to succeed

I hurt and I bleed

Trying to obtain my goal

So I can be somewhat whole

I want to reach my star

But feel as though I’m not getting far

I feel like I’m a bird without wings to sore

And it hurts me to my soul’s core

What can I do?

I want to pull through

Even if I bleed

I must succeed

Life hasn’t always been kind

I’m searching until I find

Until I find myself at peace

Until my inner demons cease.
